Refreshed!

I just got back from a 3 week vacation. Alexis and I flew to Utah to visit family. It was really fun to see 3 new babies. After staying 2 weeks we flew to Rapid City South Dakota and met Shaun for a vacation! It was such a fun place to visit and Alexis was at a great age to be able to hike and enjoy the National Parks and Monuments with us. So Fun!!

The results are in.......

Well we had an ultra sound today and we found out to our surprise that we are having a........................................Girl! We are really excited and have a couple names that we like. We were both shocked because we felt strongly this baby was a boy, well we were wrong! I am excited to have two girls back to back so they can share a room, clothes, toys and stuff. It is so interesting to think how each child will be so uniquely different. It will be fun to see whether this baby looks anything like Alexis.

Other news going on:

• Shaun got called to be the Second Counselor in the Branch Presidency... we were pretty caught off guard. It will be busy but a blessing and great opportunity to serve.
• I am flying to Utah to visit 3 new babies that have been born!
• We are taking a trip to Mt. Rushmore!
• We are looking for a home and thinking of the possibility of building.
• Alexis is done with preschool for the summer.

I can't think of much else that is new with us. Things continue to be as busy as ever. Shaun is super busy with work and scouts and now his new calling. I am busy with mine. In a branch there are lots of service opportunities. We have enjoyed it. Now that the long cold winter is pretty much over it is nice to see the beautiful spring weather and get outside a bit. We still miss the mountains but are enjoying the pretty farms here.

Bird Watching and Nature Walk

Alexis and I went on a nature walk yesterday day. There are fields surrounding our apartments. She is holding a big root and her bug catcher. So far she has caught some worms and lady bugs and had some missed attempts at spiders. We have also been bird watching off our deck. We have spotted several differen't birds. Just today we saw one with red on the neck but didn't catch a picture in time before it flew away.

Easter Eggs

Alexis got a cute Noah's Ark Easter Egg hunt in the mail from her Grandma and Grandpa Cornia. She had fun hiding the eggs for Shaun and I to find.

This is "Spot Stripe" the salamander. Alexis got this from All a Dollar for getting 7 stickers on her Sticker chart.

My family has always dyed Easter eggs. It has been a fun tradition. Our main focus has always been on the Resurrection of Christ. This year we had a newly baptised member from Guatemala over for dinner. He doesn't speak English so Shaun has had the opportunity to teach him the gospel. While he was here we helped him look up some stuff on the Internet about the church i his home town. He was amazed to see that there is a Temple being built in Guatemala. We watched the "Testaments" a movie about Christ and the Resurrection in Spanish and Shaun translated conversation during dinner. It was nice to be able to have him in our home where he doesn't get to see his family who is still in Guatemala. He found it interesting that we color eggs. Where his home town the local churches outlaw the celebration of Christmas or Easter. It was all a new thing for him.

Our eggs included: the world, the Teton mountains, a cob of Nebraska Corn, Baby Chicks, Sparkly glitter, and random designs.

Happy Easter Everyone! This year Alexis is really excited about all the Holidays. At preschool the kids had a little Easter party. When I picked her up this is how she came walking out. Like a little Bunny! Notice the outfit Alexis picked out? She wants to wear this outfit everyday. It is her favorite shirt and she loves skirts.
For family night we decorated sugar cookies.

These are Alexis's cookies. She decorated them all by herself. My favorites are the bunnies and the specled flower.
