Winter Quarters Temple
These pictures are actually from a trip we took a few years ago. But they are good pictures of the Temple in Winter Quarters Nebraska.
We were able to go to the Winter Quarters Temple Yesterday. It was really nice of our neighbors to watch Alexis for us while we made the drive. We got there in time for the session but could not find the temple! We ended up helping out with some other people that were doing some work. It is a beautiful temple and I am excited to go back to go through the trail center and learn more about the history of the area. On the temple grounds there is a grave sight of some pioneers. One of my ancestors is buried there. It was especially touching to see some of the artwork in the temple.

New Baby Girl Neice!
I am really excited for my brother and his wife that had their baby girl this last week. I hear she is darling. I have not seen pictures yet am excited to see them hopefully soon! She was born about 3 weeks early so she is just a little cutie. Congratulations Mike and Seve!

A fun Outing!
Happy Birthday Shaun! (I'll post photos of the party later. it isn't till Friday)This year Shaun requested to play games and have cake and ice cream. Almost every year he makes his "Grandma Kings Cinnamon Rolls" on his birthday! Mmm! We are also going to watch a free "on demand" movie probably "Meet Dave" and go to dinner somewhere just the two of us.

Original Downtown Columbus Nebraska! They have this really old tavern that looks like it is straight out of a wild west show.... It is actually a historical sight now, but still runs as a bar.

Alexis had fun seeing the trains up close. They were slowly rolling by.
I felt like I was taking a walk through my grandmother's home.
It was fun to see all the antique stuff.
I almost bought some neat old windows I want to turn into picture frames!
Isn't this a fun old building to see? The trains and tracks are off to the right. It is clear this was an old railroad town. Back behind here is another store that has collectibles too. Alexis kept saying "mom look at this old thing" when I showed her an old radio she asked if the people listened to "Cd's" on it too! I really enjoyed seeing some of the antique toys. There was a microscope set that was really cool. The old rocking chairs, quilts, magazines, and furniture were neat too!
Fun outing even if it was bitter cold today!

In the Words of a 3 year old!
Alexis has been learning her articles of faith. We are on #4 now. It is so fun to teach her and to hear her sweet testimony of faith. I love 3 year olds! This was the way she said the 2nd article of faith for awhile:
We believe all mans will be punished for their own sons and not for Adam's transgresheons!
She just started primary last week and loves it. She came home telling us all about learning about the 3 degrees of glory. "And we did puzzles with a sun and a star and a moon!"
This week Alexis will be giving the scripture we are having her recite the 1st article of faith. It is so hard not to crack up sometimes when the things kids say are so cute and hilarious. We have been practicing standing on a chair and having her recite her memorized scripture. Well since we have memorized 3 so far she was mixing them all together and saying something like this:
"Hello I am Alexis Cornia and I will be giving a talk on a scripture (her added part) First article of faith......And we believe in God that all man will be punished by the ornamentces of the gospel...."
I also love her prayer at Christmas time...."....and please help me to be good.....(pause) so that Santa will bring me LOTS of presents...."
Other Cute things:
Today at the eye docter she announced to everyone. I'm Alexis Cornia! When the doctor came and said "how are you doing today" Alexis said "mom you have to tell him your name!" The doctor looked at my chart smiled and said I already know it it's right here. I said look he has it written on the paper I filled out! She told Shaun "Daddy I'm going to be a dancer and a doctor!"
After the appointments she of course had to try on the pink Disney glasses for kids and announce that she was going to buy them today. They were very cute!
She then sat on the chair across from me and said "I am the lady and you come here" I came and sat down at the desk. She smiled and in her professional most polite voice said "Hi and thank you for coming in today!" she stuck out her hand to shake mine. I was caught off guard by how professional she really was. I think she should be hired!
There are so many things everyday that I just love to hear and see in my daughters personality. We love having her in our lives. She is such a Joy!

I haven't posted about our Anniversary It was Dec. 28th. Shaun and I have been married now for 7 years! Yay!

Unexpected Christmas Trip
December 24th we drove all day to Utah for the funeral of Shaun's Grandpa Dale King. It was a unexpected death although he was older. The funeral was very nice and touching. He was honored by the honor guard at the gravesight for his service in World War II. He was a great man. One I new for 7 years yet felt like I had known forever. He made me laugh. He had a great whit and humor and a life filled with stories of service, love, compassion, and family togetherness. He was very loved by his children, siblings, friends, grandchildren and great grand children. He was always making the grandkids smile. Alexis loved to sit next to him on the arm of his couch and watch movies. She would often follow him around the house too. Grandpa and I both had a love for ketchup. We will miss him dearly but are so greatful for Jesus Christ and a way that has been made possible for us to see him again and that he will be resurrected someday.
