Long Lost Promised Updates!

Here are a bunch of updates I promised to post and I'm finally getting around to it!
For Shaun's Birthday he wanted to play games. We got together with a couple of neighbors and their families and had pizza. It happened to be our neighbor's birthday as well so we celebrated both. It was a really fun night.

Birthday and Rocks

We have rocks outside our apartments and Alexis loves to collect any rock she can find. This day she had been packing around a gift sack she found in our spare bedroom. (She likes to carry around bags and purses and put "treasures" in them. ) On the way up to our apartment I saw her chuck several rocks into the sack. I explained that we couldn't keep them and they needed to stay in the flower beds at the apartment and they weren't ours. I saw her throw several handfulls back into the flower beds. Well we got up to the apartment and here is what I found. That little sneak! I made her take them back out. Poor thing! She just wants some rocks!

Alexis turned 4 this last month. I can't believe how fast she has grown. Here is her invitation for her little friend party. I will have to post some more pictures of the party. I know- I am behind!

Exciting News

This was at about 8 weeks. Getting kindof hard to hide already!

I decided that we would announce our good news. Yes we are pregnant! It is a great blessing and miracle to us. We have been waiting awhile for this so we are very excited. We thought we would wait till 12 weeks or the end of the first trimester to tell everyone. A lot of people that live by us already know because I am showing so much faster than I did with Alexis and it is hard to disguise the growing basketball! In fact we thought we might be having twins at first! I was kind of disappointed when the Doctor said "there's just one" because it meant I just was huge already and at least having twins would have explained it! Oh well!

We are due on September 7th which happens to be Labor Day. How appropriate don't you think? Shaun and I both think it might be a boy. I just feel like it is. Alexis however is set that it is going to be a girl and won't even come up with any boy names. Her names for a girl are: Arienna A after my brother's baby "Arienna Bea", Starburst, Star, Rainbow, and Patty. Thinking of Alexis and her personality I think "Starbusrt" would have been an appropriate name for her. My mom had a best friend named Star growing up come to think of it. She is really excited and tells me all the time how she is going to help me with the baby. She sleeps with the ultrasound picture on her dresser and refuses to allow me to remove it. I found her carrying it around the other day. I think I will put it in her little photo album so it doesn't start to get to ruined.

All about Alexis

Alexis loved to play salon. I'm not surprised since she see me doing this a lot because it is my profession. She had a blast doing dad's hair (what a good sport). I helped her use food coloring and mix up a "color formula" in some water.

We mixed red with green to make brown. Next time we might need to add some cornstarch to thicken the water. It was a bit drippy!

Alexis Styling Dad's Hair! When it was time to go to bed she cried because this was so fun! She has been asking almost everyday to play this again.

She keeps asking for a pretend salon for her birthday.

Alexis has been doing really great with going to bed lately. Sometimes though when Shaun and I have a movie night she sneaks down the stairs with excuses like "I need to tell you something" or "I just needed to get a drink", etc. this way she casually sneaks in a peak of the movie we are watching. The other night we watched "City of Ember". I kept thinking I heard a noise coming down the stairs but then no Alexis appeared. The movie got over and we headed up the stairs and about stepped on Alexis sleeping at the bottom of the stairs. What a sneaky little 3 year old! She was just out of our eyes sight on the landing! How funny!

It's funny that this happpened to be the picture. It is a picture of my own hair taken after work one day. I had labled it in my document folder as "fun hair". I should do my hair like this soon. I used to do my hair like this all the time. I guess I've gotten lazy! If I'm going to have long hair I might as well do something interesting with it!
