What's that you say?

Colbie has started to say a couple words. I don't think she associates the meaning yet. Although it seems she might know from listening to Alexis that I am "Mommy" she was calling "ma ma ma" in the night for me to come feed her last night. How precious!

I love my girls!

Alexis begs to hold Colbie and I try to give her every opportunity to do so. First thing in the morning she goes and says hello to Colbie. "Hey Colbes" she'll say. Even though Colbie pulls her hair alot she still want to give her hugs all the time. She loves her so much. One of her favorite things is to play roll the ball with Colbie and I. Colbie flaps her arms and gets so excited whenthe ball comes to her. Colbie also gets excited to see Alexis after she has been gone at preschool. While Alexis was holding Colbie she started reading her this book it was so cute I had to get a movie too.
Alexis and I played fashion show. These dolls are ready to walk down the runway. I love the girl on the left with 7 pairs of shoes on and 3 hats. The girl on the right has a white hair elastic on her head like a halo. I also got a movie of her descriptions of the people walking down the runway. Too cute. I love having girls!

Happy Birthday Shaun!

Happy Birthday Shaun on the 14th of January. I know it's way past but I just don't have the time to blog anymore! Shaun got the flu and was home sick for a few days so we celebrated his birthday later. We went to our friends house and had cake and iceream with them. His birthday is a couple days later than Shaun's. Over the weekend we had our own cake. Shaun always loves German Chocolate cake!

We had an Ice storm and fog that left beautiful white frost all over the trees. I took Colbie to Pawnee Park and took some photos. While we were there some ducks came up to us and suddenly got scared and flew up right in front of Colbie. She was so amazed. It was a beautiful day.

Shaun's cousin Paul got married. He lives in Omaha and is a dentist there. His wife is also a dentist! She is super nice and we were so glad we could go to their beautiful wedding. We are looking forward to having her in the family. We got to see Shaun's Grandma and Grandpa Cornia. It was fun to see some family members. Shaun even danced with me to the big band music even though we were the only ones on the dance floor. It was even more special because I knew he was doing it just for me. I was so surprised he got up and danced in front of everyone! He also danced with Alexis. It was priceless.

We are getting a bit more settled in our house we have put up a couple curtain rods and some bathroom towel hooks. We also got the boxes out of the garage to where we can pull in our two cars.

Time marches on. We are busier than ever with our little Colbie. Shaun is still serving in the Branch presidency which keeps him a bit busy with church stuff. I have been released as the first councelor in the relief society, then I was the compassionate service leader and the provident living specialist, now I am going to be the primary music leader. I am excited to try this new calling and nervous at the same time. I love hearing the songs and the kids sing so I know I will enjoy it.

We have been praying for my sister and brother-in-law. They are currently in California doing a specialized form of invitro called ixie (don't know how to spell it). They have been blessed to find the doctor who is probably the best in the United States for this and the first to do some of the proceedures. We feel miracles have taken place so far to allow them to be where they are in this journey. We continue to keep faith and hope that they will be starting their family very soon! We love you! We are praying for you! Please keep them in your prayers!

Happy Valentines this month and Happy Birthday to Alexis this month she will be 5! I can't believe it!

Here is a hat I made with some yarn Colbie and Alexis gave me for Christmas. Alexis and Shaun have been having Daddy Daughter interviews on the first Sunday of the month. It is so interesting to hear what she has to say and ask her questions about what she thinks we as parents need to do better. Since her last interview she has periodically been telling us things we need to work on. Most I agree with. Today she told us after church that we were having a "family view" . She had her rock collection box sitting there so I asked, "Is that where we look at your rocks"? She answered, "Well it's like the daddy daughter view only it's a family view where we look at all my most specialist rocks!"

Colbie has started eating rice and oatmeal cereal this past week.

She also learned how to make a spitting sound.

The combo of first learning how to eat food and spitting is pretty fun (and messy) !

Christmas Wrap Up

Just a post to wrap up our Christmas celebration. It was fun to have our own traditions as a family. Alexis was just old enough to really understand everything. We were able to just relax and enjoy having time we don't usually have with Shaun being off for a week and a half. He cooked gourmet meals and cleaned and played with the girls. We played games, went shopping, saw Princess and the Frog at the little Theatre in town, and laughed with one another. We got snowed in, we sang, we read and talked about Christ, and just enjoyed not traveling. I had a bit of the back to work blues because it was so nice to have Shaun home. For New Year's we let Alexis stay up and play games. We all went out and banged pots, something we always did with my family growing up. After we got in a sword fight with the wooden spoons. Good times! Today we started our new goal of exercising more. We went the the Ymca and I did a Latin Dance aerobics class called Zumba while Shaun shot hoops. We did some weight training afterward. The Y has free babysitting...So nice! Happy New Year to you all! What I got for Christmas: Clothes that fit

Colbie was pretty excited about Christmas more than I thought she would be. She loved opening gifts she got so excited she fell asleep 3 times it took her all day to open her stuff!

When Alexis went to see Santa she just stared at his face and studied the inside of his house. I already told about how she thought she had been naughty this year in another post. She told us after that "I looked and looked and couldn't see Santa's mouth!" So that's what she was looking for!

Making up for missing Thanksgiving. Our neighbors got sick who were going to come so we called some other neighbors to come over. It was really nice. The food was delicious!

The snow storm got worse and worse. We almost were completely snowed in with drifts from the high winds. It still hasn't melted! I touched the roof yesterday with Alexis while playing in the snow with her.
