Family Pictures

We got some family pictures taken when we went out to visit in July. It was quite the undertaking getting two tired little girls ready and to hold still. They actually turned out better than I thought they would. It was nice to have a picture of all of Shaun's side of the family. We had a great trip out to Utah. We had already gotten on the road and realized we had forgotten our camera. Luckily we had some good pictures from family. While we were there we went to the children's museum, watched fireworks, went to a parade, played at a splash park, and saw both our families. 

Right now we are getting ready for back to school. I can't believe the summer is gone already. In addition to becoming an independent sales rep. for Avon I have agreed to teach a creative movement dance class to 2 1/2 and 3 year olds at the studio where Alexis takes dance. I am a bit nervous but excited. 

Colbie has grown like crazy and is talking up a storm lately. Her latest saying is "that for?" she asks constantly what things are used for. She loves barbies and dolls and playing pretend. She likes to catch pretend butterflies. 

Alexis continues to love art. She showed me a detailed drawing tonight of her design to make a canopy to put above her bed out of a hoola-hoop and material. She had a friend over the other day and they played dress up, watched a Barbie fairy movie, made necklaces, listened to music, and put on makeup. She is grwoing up way to fast!

County Fair. It was fun but super hot. Heat index 115-120 degrees!

We had fun watching the pigs get sprayed with water. They were prickly so Colbie didn't like to touch them.

we came back from vacation to a jungle in our backyard! These are Alexis's mammoth sunflowers we planted. The field behind us is corn this year. It makes a great privacy fence! The fireflies are also beautiful at night. Our cat Cade thinks it is his personal hunting jungle! Luckily it is so hot he comes back home pretty quick if he gets out by accident cause finding him in there is impossible!

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a great mother's day. Shaun and Alexis made me breakfast (french toast, hashbrowns, and ham). I was feeling a bit homesick talking to my mom and sister on the phone last night. I miss them so much! My family is such an inspiration to me. I I have the best mother in the whole world because she is also one of my very best friends. I also have a amazing mother-in-law who raised my wonderful husband. Happy Mother's day to all the mothers and future mothers and all the women for that matter! 

Prepare for the Multipost!

We had a great Easter Weekend. We stayed at home and relaxed! The girls enjoyed hunting for their Easter baskets and for eggs in our backyard. (it's so nice to have a yard!).We played some fun board games and tried a new ham recipe. I made the girls some new Easter dresses for church (I don't have a picture of Colbie in hers because she fell asleep). We went to the two shoe stores in town and let Alexis and Colbie try on shoes.....a favorite activity for girls I must say! We took a couple of nights and read some scriptures about Jesus Christ. I really felt the joy of Easter this year in thinking of the amazing gift of the resurrection. I am a music leader at church for the primary kids. I thoroughly enjoy it. Every time I am in singing with the kids we feel the spirit so strong testifying of the truth of the scriptures and words of the prophets. It was especially special this Easter to sing songs about Christ and read scriptures that went along. We re-read the scriptures during Sunday dinner together.

I know that my Redeemer Lives!

I definitely have "girly girls". I cleaned out Alexis's room and found about 30 lip glosses in a variety of flavors. We organized them and painted our nails. Colbie and Alexis sure had fun trying on the different flavors. Alexis wanted a different color on each nail.

 Alexis got brave and let me take her training wheels off her bike. She is so excited to be able to "ride a two wheeled bike" as she says.

 We finished decorating Alexis's Room. I love the vinyl stickers we got at Target! They are so easy to put up and reposition if needed.

 Oh the joy of the Love Sac! Colbie and Alexis love this new addition to the living room!

 Alexis performed in her school music program. She sang three songs. It was so fun to see her up on stage!

Here she is with her class her teacher is the one in the middle at the end of the row. She has been an awesome teacher for us this year!
